In the first half year, import value of wire and cable products amounted to 10.1 billion yuan, up by 18.4% year on year while the export value was 23.3 billion yuan. The trade surplus in wire and cable hit 13.2 billion yuan, according to Wu Shimin, Executive Deputy Secretary-general of Wire & Cable Committee under China Electrical Equipment Industrial Association.
Wu Shimin pointed out that in recent years, China’s trade of wire and cable products kept the increasing surplus with the growth over 20%. It is a great encouragement for domestic wire and cable companies.
With the maturing domestic market competition and demand slowdown, more and more producers gradually expand their overseas market in order to reduce the influences by market environmental degradation and increased trading costs.
Currently, to go global is considered as one of important strategies by many domestic companies.
In China, costal cities like Guangdong, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Jiangsu are major export places for wire and cable products.
