The global power installation and consumption will reach 8.2 billion kW and 3.4 trillion kWh, up by 60% and even more compared with that in 2012, according to Liu Zhenya, President of China State Grid, in World Smart Grid Forum 2013.
Liu said that since the 21st Century, alternative power has become the trend of energy development. Power is the high-quality, high-effective and clean secondary energy. Every one percentage point of power consumption in energy end-use could reduce by 4% of energy consumption per GDP in China. And the economic value by a ton standard coal is as much as 3 times of oil and 17 times of coal.
Since 2000, the proportion of power transformed by primary energy has been increased from 35% to about 40%. And it is expected to exceed 50% by 2030, when the global power installation and consumption will reach 8.2 billion kW and 3.4 trillion kWh, both increasing 60% compared with 2012.
This Forum, from a business, regulatory and technical executive perspective, was co-sponsored by China State Grid, IEC and VDE.
Klaus Wucherer, President of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), Liu Zhenya, President of China State Grid, and Joachim Schneider, President of the Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies served as Chairman of this forum.
It gathered more than 500 representatives from 40 countries over the whole world to attend the forum and discuss their respective expectation and demand on smart gird.
